Are you looking for a fun way to work on a kid’s articulation skills? Do you need an activity that is both hands on and engaging for your speech therapy sessions? Do you need an activity that doesn’t involve you having to grab out those articulation cards over and over again? I created this fun directed drawing activity that will keep your kids engaged while working on all their speech sounds! Articulation: Say, Draw, Color is great at helping your kids that love to draw unleash their creativity while practicing their articulation goals!

Articulation: Say, Draw, Color

This activity has the kid say a word a certain number of times before drawing part of a picture, known as a directed drawing. The number of times a word needs to be said is determined by you.

Sounds Targeted

The sounds that are targeted cover a wide range, including:

  • B, D, F, G, J, K, L, M, N, P, R, S, T, V, Z, SH, CH, and TH in Mixed Positions of Words
  • L-Blends, S-Blends, R-Blends, H, W, and Y in the Initial Position of Words

Articulation Word Banks

Each worksheet focuses on a specific target sound. It also provides a word bank of related words with pictures included for each target word.

Four Directed Drawings Included

There are four different drawings that can be completed with these worksheets. This makes it a great activity to complete over and over again. The drawings for the summertime theme worksheets include a bee, rabbit, frog, and snail.
